*Never underestimate the power of real, authentic reading. Take advantage of all this time to truly dig into books that you find interesting! Set a personal reading challenge. Will you read 10 books? 20? Keep a running list of the titles you finish alone and as a family!

*VIsit www.switchzoo.com to create new and interesting animals. Extend to writing: Name them, describe their habitat, describe their diet (Are they a carnivore? Herbivore? Omnivore? What do they eat?), explain any physical or behavioral adaptations they may have.
*Keep a journal of what you are doing each day. Are you practicing an instrument? Did you try a new recipe? Are you perfecting your skills for a sport? Did your family explore a new trail outside. Keep something to share with your class and to look back on. Include details and sketches. Make sure to put the date on top of each entry!
*Canvas activities
*Many zoos and museums are offering virtual tours and live broadcasts. Use these free, virtual opportunities to do the following:
*Take a museum tour. Make a pamphlet to advertise your exhibits in your favorite museum. Google “virtual museum tours for students” and pick one from the extensive results that you are interested in!
*Check out the Cincinnati Zoo on Facebook (have a parent do this with you) and watch their animal presentation. Create a poster or a Google slide about your favorite animal. Include facts and images or drawings. Extend your learning by doing some research on this animal to learn even more about it! Other zoos/aquariums are offering this as well! Google for free opportunities!
*Create a brochure or travel advertisement to visit your favorite ancient civilization. Include pictures with captions!
