TEACHER WELCOME EMAIL:
Good morning! I appreciate everyone jumping on board to work at the upcoming SOL/Wise Academy at Clover Hill High School from 3:40 - 5:30 pm, Monday - Thursday, December 1-4 and December 8- 11, 2025. (You can check on the enrollment for each course via the individual registration response sheets on our SOL Academy page linked below.) We are still waiting on the room numbers/assignments, but Tara will forward them asap. Teachers, please plan to arrive by 3:25 pm and stay until 5:55 pm to assist with students' arrival and departure. You will also receive 1 hour of planning time per day for a total of 3.5 hours paid per day (15 hours per week).
Students will attend Monday through Thursday to remediate and test at their home school on Friday. If they are taking Workkeys Reading, Workkeys Writing, or Wise, they will test on Thursday at the academy. Students who do not pass may return week 2 to remediate again and follow the same testing schedule that week. Lisa Kallio-Harris is the testing coordinator and can answer any questions regarding this. Feel free to reach out via email.
Tara Harvell will serve as principal for the SOL/Wise Academy in December. If you have any questions, you may email her at Tara_Harvell@ccpsnet.net. Brett_Ridens@ccpsnet.net will assist Tara. If you have any difficulty with the spreadsheet or taking attendance, please email Emily_Daniels@ccpsnet.net. Of course, I'm available for any questions you may have, as well. This is your availability for the December academies based upon the information you entered into the staff interest form earlier this year. If any information is incorrect or you are no longer available, please let Tara or myself know asap.

Academy Website (Timesheets are located here. Print and complete on Thursday the December 4th and 11th (or both on the 11th), and give to Tara Harvell. The registration response sheets referenced above are located here. This is where you can see your students and take attendance. SOL/Wise Teacher resources are located here on the Reading/Writing/Wise or Math/Science Academy tab.)
Bus Pass (Students must have one to ride the specialty center bus to Clover Hill High and back to their home school afterwards. They should request one from their school counselor.)
To Do List for Teachers:
1. Teachers, please check your specific registration response sheet on our Academy website (linked above) to see which students have been assigned to you. Directions to follow are on the Information Sheet above. This is also where you will record attendance daily. SOL/Wise teachers, you may check your registration response sheets after 5 pm on November 25th.
2. Use this template (updated) to draft an email to your students the Friday before the academy starts. This will let them know their room number, as well. (See below.) Send your students the student invite for Canvas on Sunday. (You must add them into your Canvas course.) Then publish your course Monday morning.
3. You will each need to complete a TWA timesheet (located on our Academy website linked above) each Thursday of the academies. The principal or I will collect them that day to ensure a timely payment for you.
4. Familiarize yourself with your Canvas course materials and all attachments above. Canvas course links are on the left side of the course menu linked above. If you do not have access, please let me know.
5. Notify Karen Watson if you need anything printed or additional supplies. (You will have a white board marker kit, pencils, and spiral notebooks on site. Students should bring their charged Chromebook.)
