JRHS counselors will meet with 8th graders the week of January 16th to share graduation requirements with students and to help students select courses for the 2026-27 school year.
What classes do I have to take next year?
All freshman should sign up for 7 classes:
English
Math
Science
Social Studies
Health & PE 9
World Language (if pursuing the Advanced Diploma) OR an elective of your choice
An elective of your choice
**All students should also pick at least 2 - 3 alternate electives in case your first choice elective is full or conflicts with your other classes.
How will I know which classes I should sign up for?
Teachers will offer advisement to students regarding next year’s course selection.
When will I make my course selections?
All students will select their courses for the 2025-26 school year by inputting class selections in Studentvue. This will take place in January. JRHS Counselors will visit middle schools to help students make their course selections and enter information correctly in Studentvue.
What if I change my mind after I make my course selections?
You can submit this form and a JRHS Counselor will update your course request. All changes must be made by March 28th.
What if I am interested in taking a CCPS online class next year?
When you meet with your school counselor you will be able to ask questions and get more information about how to sign up for a CCPS online class. In the meantime, you are welcome to visit the CCPS Online website.
