Week of May 11-15
Good Afternoon CHES Families,
We have a huge thank you to Sophia Snell, Molly Walker, and all CHES families who donated items for our Teacher Appreciation Week including lunch, snacks, and stocking the fridge! River City Chocolates surprised the staff Friday with delicious chocolates, too! Our CHES staff is so appreciative and thanks everyone for all of the love and continued support!
Thank you to our CHES families that contributed to Chesterfield County Animal Shelter! Many animals will benefit from your generosity. Thank you to our Girls on the Run coaches, volunteers, and students involved in running, contributing, and participating to support each other all spring!
Join us for Summer Suds Send Off! May 15 from 6-8pm at CHES hosted by CHES PTA!
Unity Day Volunteers Needed: We are looking for parent volunteers to support classrooms during our upcoming Unity Day on Thursday, May 28th. Volunteers will assist teachers with student supervision and materials during activities from 12:00–3:00 PM. You will not be expected to lead activities and will remain with your assigned class throughout the event. You will not be guaranteed to be with your own child's class, but we will try to accommodate this! Your support helps make Unity Day a meaningful and positive experience for our students, and we truly appreciate your willingness to help. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the Google Form linked HERE.
Woodlake Community Association will have a Hilltop Community Garden. Please take a look at the attached flyer!
Children who will be 5 years old by Sept. 30, 2026, can start kindergarten in the 2026-27 school year. Beginning the registration process early will help schools prepare for the best possible kindergarten year, which in turn will give students a strong start to their K-12 years.
Please pre-register your child for the upcoming 26-27 school year through your current ParentVue account. (New students will create an account during pre-registration.) Registration information can be found at the following link https://www.oneccps.org/page/register-for-school.

Five minutes have been added to the beginning and end of each day for the remainder of the year to make up for instructional time lost due to weather. CHES car rider drop off will begin at 7:55am. Dismissal for car riders will begin at 3:00pm. Any transportation changes must continue to be before 2:30pm by phone. Parent Drop off will close at 8:20am in order for students to have enough time to be in their classroom at 8:25am.

Parents of ESL students please see these Community English Learning Resources for information about opportunities to learn English.
Earn cash for our school! By linking your Kroger Plus/Shopper’s card to Clover Hill Elementary School, a portion of any qualifying purchase you make is donated to CHES. These funds help support your students. More information at: https://www.kroger.com/i/community/community-rewards
Please help us keep our students safe during parent drop-off. We have noticed an increase in students hanging out of windows and sunroofs while cars are moving in the drop off line. For their safety, we kindly ask that all children remain seated and buckled in until your vehicle has come to a complete stop at the designated drop-off point. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe environment for everyone.
Here is a link to directions to get students logged into any device at home to access learning apps through RI and Backpack: Accessing Learning Apps at Home
Please send in a hand-written note if you need to change your child’s transportation. We ask that you not show up in the car rider line without first sending in a note. We cannot make changes at dismissal time.
Any transportation changes must be made by phone no later than 2:30pm.
Any early pick ups must be before 2:30pm.
Whenever you or someone authorized to pick up your child comes into the office, a physical identification card must be presented. An image of an ID card will not be accepted.
