11th Grade

CLASS OF 2024!

Important reminders for Junior Year:

  1. Do your best in all classes! If you are planning to apply to college, this year will be the most recent academic progress colleges will review when you apply in the fall/winter of your Senior Year.

  2. If college bound, sign up to take an SAT or ACT test - or both! Most schools will accept either test, some schools no longer require a test score at all. Do your research for the colleges you are interested in.

  3. Start thinking about your plan for after high school - you don’t have to have it all figured out, but start researching and investigating what interests you. https://sites.google.com/a/ccpsnet.net/mdhs/home/resources/college-career-center

  • Begin researching colleges. Look at websites, search sites, online campus tours, student reviews.

  • Take a career assessment to begin exploring a major or a career you would like. Some include: https://www.vawizard.org/wizard/careersAssess

  • Take a free practice test for the ACT and SAT to see on which test you perform better. Sign up for a prep class if you are taking the early spring exams OR use the free resources online at Khan Academy.

  • Continue researching colleges and universities that interest you. Make a list of your Top 10. Decide which colleges that you might like to visit and prepare questions for upcoming tours.
