Earn the opportunity to holiday shop for free at……
Ettrick Elementary’s Holiday Hero Shop
We are excited to welcome your students to school on time, all day, every single day! Attending school regularly helps your child feel better about school and themselves. It also earns you an opportunity to shop at our Holiday Hero Market! We will be doing holiday assistance a little different this year. This year holiday assistance will be tied into the ABC’s of Communities In Schools. The ABCs are defined as Attendance, Behavior and Course Completion. ( Academics)
This year, if your child misses 3 days or less of school between the first day of school and December 15, receives 1 or less office referrals, and holds at least a C/2 average, you ( parent/guardian) earn an opportunity to shop at our Holiday Hero Market! (Please note: 3 tardies= 1 absence 3 early dismissals= 1 absence) This will take place December 19th at Ettrick Elementary from 5:00pm-7:00pm.
So how do you ensure that you will get a spot to shop?
If your student(s) meet these requirements, parents/ guardians will shop first. After those parents have shopped we will open up the shop to the second set of requirements. After December 15th you will receive a color and a time for you to come and shop. Your color indicates when you will be able to shop and which requirements your student(s) met . If you do not meet any of these requirements you will shop at a different time.
We will be supplying one or two items that you can shop for, for your current ETTRICK student only. Unfortunately, due to the large amount of requests and high demand of gifts we will only be able to supply one/two gifts per current Ettrick Elementary students .
If your child is unable to attend school regularly and on time, please talk with Emily Davidson, CIS Coordnator , and she may be able to provide you with resources and asstiance .

Registration for the 2019 Christmas Assistance program will begin in mid-September. The link will be posted to this page when the time comes. This year, Spanish-speaking families in the Richmond area will have the opportunity to schedule through the Office of Multicultural Affairs (OMA).
Online appointments open: Tri-Cities: September 16 – 20 (UPDATE: All appointments have been filled.)

Here’s how the process works:
Anyone requesting Christmas Assistance will schedule an appointment online to come in and register for assistance in person.
We will release a set number of appointments online each day. Appointments become available exactly two weeks before the in-person registration date. For example, for an in-person registration date of October 16, the earliest those appointments would appear in our online system is October 2.
Please keep in mind, due to a high volume of requests, we can’t guarantee your preferred date will be available. If a particular day is booked, your best bet is to check the system every day as new appointments get released.
During in-person registration, you must bring all required documentation and wish lists/clothing sizes for your children.
If all requirements are met, you will then be given a time/day to return to pick up your gifts and coat(s) in December.
Photo identification (proof of current address needed if not on I.D.)
Birth certificates (to verify ages) for registered children (ages 0-14)
