What is Bullying?
According to CCPS, Bullying has two key components: repeated harmful acts and an imbalance of power. Bullying involves repeated physical, verbal, or psychological attacks or intimidation directed against a victim.
What is harassment?
Harassment covers a wide range of behaviors of an offensive nature. It is commonly understood as behavior intended to disturb or upset, and it is characteristically repetitive.
What is intimidation?
A person is subjected to intentional actions that seriously threaten and induce a sense of fear and/or inferiority.
What can students and parents/guardians do to eliminate bullying, harassment, or intimidation?
Whether you or your child is a victim or bystander, feel empowered to report all incidents to school administration, counselors, and other school staff. Utilize the Bullying, Harassment, or Intimidation Reporting form (available online at www.ccps.org or at your child’s school). Model and teach appropriate responses to bullying behaviors. Take a stand! Become aware and involved with CCPS programming available to promote antibullying behaviors.
