What is P-TECH?
Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH) give students a unique chance to earn a high school diploma along with an associate degree and industry certification—all for FREE!
We offer twi P-TECH pathways through Collin College:
Construction/Carpentry – Learn hands-on skills to build and design structures.
EKG Technician – Prepare for a career in healthcare by learning how to perform heart monitoring tests.
Why Choose P-TECH?
It’s designed for students who might not have considered college as an option.
You’ll take both high school and college courses starting in 9th grade.
You can graduate with real-world skills and qualifications that lead to high-paying, in-demand careers.
You’ll get work experience through internships, apprenticeships, or job training.
P-TECH partners with local colleges and businesses to give you direct pathways to college and career opportunities.
How Does It Work?
P-TECH programs are free and open to all students but focus on supporting those who may face challenges in accessing college.
Students can earn a high school diploma plus an associate degree, Level 1 or Level 2 certificate, or industry-based certification in four years or less.
Every year, you’ll gain hands-on work experience in your field of interest.
P-TECH schools work closely with Texas colleges and industries to make sure students are prepared for the workforce.
P-TECH is all about helping you succeed beyond high school—whether that means starting a career right away or continuing your education!
