In The Loop
Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
School is closed to students on Tuesday 6th May due to an Inset Day
Dear families,
It has certainly felt like the summer term this week with the warmer weather. Pupils have adapted well to the hotter temperatures this week and made the adjustments to their uniform yesterday appropriately. I would like to remind families that pupils should now return to normal, full school uniform and I will let you know in advance of any future warm temperatures regarding adjustments to the normal uniform.
Year 10 exams have finished today and pupils in Year 10 have impressed staff with how quickly they learnt the routines for exams. Year 11 exams have already started with Art and Photography taking place today and Year 11 will move to our masterclass timetable next week. As Year 11 will be changing to the masterclass timetable, Year 9 will move to second break and lunch from Monday 12th May 2025. Pupils in Year 9 will have break from 11-11.30am and lunch from 1.30-2pm and will still finish at 3pm.
I would like to thank parents/carers who responded to our request for feedback on changing the times of the school day from September. I can now confirm that, from September 2025, the times of the day will change as detailed below.
I was saddened to hear of the death of Lord Stanley Kalms, who passed away on 30th March 2025. Lord Kalms, a former Christ's College Finchley pupil, was well known for expanding his single shop in Hendon to a chain of 1,300 branches of Dixons and I know his success provides inspiration to our current pupils.
Finally I would like to wish you all a lovely bank holiday weekend and to remind you that we have an INSET day on Tuesday 6th May 2025. We look forward to welcoming pupils back on Wednesday 7th May 2025.
Best wishes
Dr Ruth Hill
