Year 10 Exam Results

Year 10 exam results will be given to pupils on Monday afternoon during period 5. Parents will be able to access results from 4pm in the results section of their My Child At School (MCAS) account or app. If you do not have access to your MCAS account, please email mcas@ccfplus.com

Uniform for Sale

Please note we have a small supply of new uniform for sale, especially girls trousers and skirts.

These will be sold at a 15% discount on the current prices.

Please contact Mrs McMorrow with the size(s) for her to check the stock.

There are also second hand items at a small fee, we have a very large supply of PE fleeces and jumpers and a few blazers.  Again let Mrs McMorrow know sizes and she will check.

Drama - Scaffolding Help Please

The Drama department are looking to borrow a small amount of scaffolding to build a raised platform on our school stage for our production of Oliver. 

If any parents could help either supply or help us build this we would be very grateful.

Year 7 – British values

This Lesson:

• The meaning of the five British Values: democracy, rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect, and tolerance of differences.

• How democracy works in the UK, including voting and representation and different political systems such as monarchy, dictatorship, and anarchy.

• Why laws are important for fairness, safety, and protecting people’s rights.

• How individual liberty allows people to express themselves and make personal choices safely.

• The importance of mutual respect and how the Equality Act 2010 protects people from discrimination.

• What tolerance of differences means and why respecting diversity matters in society.

• How British Values can be seen in everyday life, schools, communities, and different cultures.

Year 8 – Individual Liberty and Identity

This Lesson:

• What individual liberty means and why people have the freedom to make choices and express themselves within the law.

• How individual liberty is balanced with responsibility, safety, and respect for other people.

• The different aspects of identity, including culture, religion, beliefs, interests, hobbies, gender, friendships, and family background.

• How identity develops and changes over time through experiences, relationships, and personal growth.

• The positive and negative influence of peer pressure on choices, behaviour, and self-expression.

• How social media can influence identity, confidence, authenticity, wellbeing, and the way people present themselves online.

• The barriers that may stop people from expressing their authentic selves, such as fear of judgement, discrimination, stereotypes, or pressure to fit in.

• Why respecting individuality and differences is important for creating 

• inclusive, respectful, and supportive communities.

• Ways students can safely and responsibly challenge unfair treatment (eg. speaking up, reporting, supporting others)

Year 9 – The age of consumerism and greenwashing

This lesson:

• What consumerism means and how advertising, trends, and social pressures encourage people to buy more products.

• What greenwashing is and how some companies exaggerate or mislead consumers about how environmentally friendly their products or actions are.

• How brands, influencers, celebrities, and social media can shape consumer behaviour and purchasing habits.

• Common greenwashing techniques such as vague claims, misleading labels, “eco-friendly” buzzwords, selective information, and misleading imagery.

• The environmental impact of overconsumption, including waste, pollution, fast fashion, carbon emissions, and resource depletion.

• How greenwashing can affect consumer trust and make it difficult for people to identify genuinely sustainable products.

• How personal consumption habits influence the environment and wider society.

• Ways individuals can make more informed and responsible choices, such as researching brands, reducing waste, buying second-hand, reusing items, and recognising misleading marketing.

Year 10 –  Housing, Mortgages and Planning for the Future

This lesson:

• What mortgages are and how people borrow money to buy homes.
  Key mortgage terms including deposits, interest rates, repayments, lenders, and loan terms.

• The difference between renting and buying a home, including advantages and disadvantages of each option.

• The financial realities of the UK housing market, including house prices, cost of living, and affordability challenges.

• What pensions are and why long-term saving for retirement is important.

• How pensions work through regular contributions, employer contributions, and long-term investment growth.

• The importance of budgeting, saving, and planning ahead for financial security.

• How long-term financial decisions made during adulthood can affect future lifestyle, stability, and wellbeing.

Year 8 HPV (Human Papillomavirus) Vaccine

The School Aged Immunisation Team will be coming into your child's school on 01/05/2025 and 12/06/2026 to administer the HPV vaccine to girls and boys in Year 8. 

Please use the link below to register your consent for your child to receive the vaccine, please complete this whether you want your child to have the vaccine or do not consent.  When completing the form, please ensure that you make absolutely sure that you have entered the correct school as there are a lot of schools in the Barnet area with the same or similar names.

This is a very important vaccine and is part of your child's routine childhood vaccinations.  It protects against 9 strains of the Human Papillomavirus and prevents against certain types of Cancer.

Your child's school will mostly have two dates booked unless it is a very small school.   If your child misses their vaccine at the first session due to illness or absence, please do not complete a second consent form, the original consent form will still be valid.

Study Facilities in Barnet Libraries

Pupils may choose to revise in Barnet libraries in preparation for their summer exams. Study space in libraries is in high demand during this period. As space is limited, students are advised to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Expectations for studying in Barnet libraries:

• Library staff and customers should be treated with respect. Swearing, offensive or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated

• Study space is limited and is provided on a first come, first served basis. Once full, students will need to leave the library and come back at another time

• Study space left unattended for more than 15 minutes will be allocated to another student

• Computer desks are only available for people using that PC. Do not study at computer desks

• Furniture must not be moved

• Please be quiet

• Please place all litter in bins provided

• Food deliveries, hot food or take-aways are not permitted

• Please do not let anyone into the library if they do not have their own library card or they are not registered for self-service opening. Do not share your card

• Some areas of the library are reserved for users who are not studying. Please respect other library users and their needs

• Sockets are limited. Please charge your device before you visit the library as you may not be able to plug in

• If you do have safe access to a socket, wires must not trail across the floor

• Please ensure people can get to the library shelves to browse

• Fire escapes must be kept clear

• Thieves operate in libraries. Please do not leave your bags or valuables unattended

• Toilets are available during staffed opening times and may be open in some self-service opening times

• For your safety and security, libraries are monitored by CCTV at all times

Study facilities are available in both staffed and self-service opening times. Young people aged 14 to 17 can register to study in self-service hours by visiting the library in staffed hours and completing a joining form. The form must be signed by their parent/ guardian. Young people should bring some proof of their identification, such as a school ID card or bus pass to register or join.
