Year 12 Churchill War Rooms Trip

Year 12 History pupils recently enjoyed an insightful trip to the Churchill War Rooms linked to their Churchill enquiry which is part of the A level History course. Walking through the preserved corridors and map rooms, pupils gained a vivid sense of the pressures and decisions faced by Winston Churchill and his wartime staff. Interactive displays and original artefacts brought their lessons to life, sparking thoughtful discussions about leadership, resilience, and the reality of life during the war.

Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge Assembly Final

This week we held the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge Assembly final during the Year 10 assembly celebrating the hard work and courage of those who took part in this year’s public-speaking programme. Our assembly finalists, Jacob, Mizuki, Eliza, Lily and Kritika confidently delivered powerful and engaging speeches on topics close to their hearts, demonstrating impressive creativity, passion, and resilience. The assembly highlighted the importance of young people having a voice and also the value of clear communication and speaking up with confidence.

We are excited to announce that our two runners-up were Eliza and Krikita, and our Assembly Final Winner was Lily. Lily will now represent CCF at the Barnet Regional Final where she will deliver her speech to a panel of VIP judges from a variety of businesses and professions in Barnet. The Barnet Regional Final will be held at Hendon School at 6pm on 4 February 2026.

Mr Rickman & Ms Franklin attended Overtime Club - an inclusive run club that has been started by an Old Finchleian - Adi who left CCF to study law and who is currently finishing his solicitor training but running the club on the side with his brother. The club runs every Wednesday night from 7pm onwards at Paddington Track - it is inclusive and caters to all running experience!
