Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Last day of term is Friday 4th April - 12:30pm Finish
Dear families,
I am sure you, like me, have been watching Chef Amber this week in the Great British Menu finals and cheering her on. It was fantastic to see CCF feature including the clip of our two sixth form pupils playing the music that accompanied her main course on Wednesday. It is incredibly exciting that Chef Amber came top with her beautiful dessert yesterday and was given the opportunity to compete in the banquet which will be shown tonight at 7pm on BBC2. We are all proud of Amber and will be cheering her on tonight.
Mr Hodges spoke to all pupils in assembly this week to remind pupils of our high expectations regarding their conduct and how we ensure they are kept safe in terms of the areas of the school where pupils can and cannot be at particular times. We are aware that pupils often arrive in school earlier than the start of tutorial and pupils must remain in the canteen area until 8.30am so that they can be supervised (unless they are with a member of staff, eg. in intervention or a club). Pupils should use the doors at the west and east foyers to enter or leave the main school building and should only use fire exit doors in an emergency or when with a member of staff. Pupils must use toilet cubicles alone and should pupils be found in a cubicle with another pupil this will lead to a fixed-term suspension. I trust parents and carers appreciate that these arrangements are in place to safeguard our pupils.
Next week is the final week of the spring term and pupils will all finish at 12.30pm on Friday 4th April 2025. Friday 4th April will be a normal day in all other respects and pupils should wear full school uniform and will have tutor time, P1, P2 and P3 as usual. A grab and go lunch will be available to pupils from the canteen. The summer term will begin on Tuesday 22nd April 2025.
Finally, I hope you all have a lovely weekend and I would like to wish Eid Mubarak to all of you who are celebrating.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
