Parent Governors
I am writing to inform you of two upcoming vacancies for the role of parent governor on our governing board.
The role of the governing board
The school’s governing board is responsible for providing confident and strategic leadership, and creating robust accountability, oversight and assurance for the school’s educational and financial performance.
The board is passionate about education and committed to continuous school improvement to ensure the best possible outcomes for our pupils.
The role of a parent governor
As a parent governor, you’ll work with the board to make sure it effectively carries out the duties referred to above. You’ll also play a vital role in bringing a parental perspective to the governing board, but you’re not there to speak ‘on behalf’ of the parent body. To be a parent governor you should have:
A strong commitment to the role and to improving outcomes for children
Good interpersonal skills, curiosity, and a willingness to learn and develop new skills
The specific skills required to make sure the governing board delivers effective governance
The governing board is keen for candidates to have skills in the following areas: Legal, Premises or Finance.

Year 11 Post 16 Destinations - Help Required Please
Year 11 pupils are currently meeting senior staff regarding their post 16 plans to ensure that all pupils are prepared for life beyond year 11. The CCF careers department is dedicated to supporting all our Year 11s to apply for college, sixth form or apprenticeships for next year. Pupils can apply for as many different courses and pathways as they like and we encourage all pupils to apply for both aspirational and insurance placements.
From now until our Year 11s sit their final exams, the Careers department will be running a careers clinic in 544 after school on Wednesdays with Ms Pienaar. The careers clinic is designed to be an open door for all pupils who would like advice or support in making their applications. Pupils can simply drop-in and use our computer facilities to make their applications in a supportive environment in the company of specialist staff.
We still have lots of opportunities for our pupils to meet with our specialist careers advisor, Mr Stonehouse, if you have any concerns or questions about the applications process or would like to refer your child for a careers advice appointment, please contact Ms Pienaar, the Careers leader, via info@ccfplus.com. Barnet council also has an excellent website, which can be found here, with information about the post 16 pathways; prospectuses for all courses offered within Barnet and links to other useful websites for both pupils and parents.

Seeking Cookbook Publishing Tips
Dear Parents,
I’m reaching out to see if anyone in our community has connections or expertise in the world of book publishing, particularly when it comes to creating and publishing a cookbook. Whether you have knowledge about the process or contacts with publishing companies who could lend a hand, I’d love to hear from you!
I’m working on an exciting project to celebrate Amber by creating and publishing a CCF cookbook, and I’d be incredibly grateful for any help, advice, or support you could offer as we embark on this adventure. If you’re able to assist, please feel free to get in touch with me via info@ccfplus.com —I would greatly appreciate it.
