Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Congratulations to those of you who have now finished your GCSEs and A Levels!
Dear families,
It has certainly been a warm and sunny week and I would like to start by thanking pupils for continuing to work hard and wear the adjusted uniform with pride. It looks likely that it will be slightly cooler at the start of next week but then warmer again and so the adjustments to the uniform (ie. no requirement for pupils to wear blazers or ties, and if they do not wear a tie they can undo their top button) will continue next week. Please ensure your child brings a refillable water bottle to school and fills this during break and lunch time.
The exam season ends today with the final A-level examinations and I am sure pupils (and their families) will be breathing a sigh of relief now that the exams are over. I am looking forward to celebrating pupils’ successes at the results days in August and celebrating this evening at the Year 11 prom.
The Year 10 pupils return from their Duke of Edinburgh assessed expedition this afternoon. They had torrential rain for their practice and then record temperatures for their expedition so they will certainly have earned their awards. This week has also seen a number of extracurricular visits including a Year 10 trip to St Paul’s Cathedral and the London Central Mosque on Monday, an MEP trip to the University of Queen Mary yesterday and a trip to King’s College London yesterday. Our sports leaders are supporting local primary school sports days over the coming weeks and we receive a lovely email from Martin Primary School after their sports day on Tuesday:
The students were a real credit to your school and young ambassadors for School Sport in Barnet. Their attitude, enthusiasm with all ages was lovely to see. Their confidence delivering the instructions, demonstrations and scores delivery made the day for our pupils on each event. Please pass on our thanks to your students for volunteering to come today and making it 'An Outstanding Sports Day!'
Our next Parent Voice meeting will take place virtually on Tuesday 24th June 2025 6-7pm. Please email info@ccfplus.com by the end of Monday if you would like to join us. The main two areas of focus will be curriculum information and the updated behaviour policy.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a lovely weekend.
Dr Ruth Hill
