🌍 World Mental Health Day – Promoting Wellbeing Across Our School 💚
Thursday 10th October marked World Mental Health Day, an important opportunity for us to reflect on how we can all look after our wellbeing and support one another. The theme this year, “Mental Health is a Universal Human Right,” reminds us that good mental health should be accessible to everyone, everywhere.
At Christ’s College Finchley, we are committed to nurturing the mental health and wellbeing of all members of our community — students, staff, and families alike. (You may notice our newsletter going yellow for today!)
Throughout the year, we deliver a series of assemblies designed to promote key aspects of emotional growth and resilience. Recent and upcoming assemblies include:
Self-Awareness and Reflection
Resilience and Overcoming Challenges
Positive Mental Health and Growth Mindset
Empathy, Kindness, and Personal Growth
These assemblies encourage open conversations about wellbeing, help pupils understand themselves and others, and develop strategies to cope with everyday challenges.
In addition, our dedicated MyZone curriculum provides structured opportunities for personal development through six key strands — each beginning with “My…” to make learning personal and relevant to students’ own lives:
My Health – understanding physical and mental wellbeing, lifestyle choices, and coping strategies.
My Relationships – exploring friendships, families, respect, consent, and identity.
My Technology – promoting online safety, digital wellbeing, and responsible use of media and AI.
My World – understanding British values, democracy, finance, sustainability, and global citizenship.
My Future – developing aspirations, employability skills, and independence.
My Impact – celebrating diversity, challenging discrimination, and reflecting on how we contribute positively to society.
Together, these lessons and assemblies ensure that our students not only succeed academically but also develop the emotional literacy, resilience, and self-awareness needed to thrive in life.

SENECA
Please be reminded that you are able to unsubscribe and opt out of the emails that come to you from Seneca. The easiest way to monitor your child's homework is by monitoring their Google Classroom account.
All homeworks, including those that are on Seneca, will be posted on Google Classroom and it is these tasks and times that should be followed.
