Risk Assessments for Students
If your child has injured themselves and has had a plaster cast fitted to arms or legs, a medical boot, needs to use crutches or has any other injury that impedes mobility, please inform us before you send your child to school so we can make an appointment to meet with parent and child to carry out a risk assessment.
Chicken pox - Notification to Parents and Carers
We would like to inform you that there have been a few cases of chicken pox reported in school.
Chicken pox is a mild and common childhood illness caused by a virus called varicella zoster. It is most common in children under the age of 10 and is contagious. A person can be infectious from 1 to 2 days before the spots appear until they have crusted over, usually 5–6 days later.
While it is generally mild, groups who are more at risk of serious complications include newborn babies, pregnant women, and those with a weakened immune system.
Please contact the school if your child has Chicken pox.
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Year 12s Volunteer to Support North London Hospice
Several CCF Year 12 students volunteered to help support North London Hospice's fundraising event the "Big Fun Walk". This took place on Sunday May 18th and involved over 1000 fundraisers completing a 10 mile sponsored walk, raising over £145000.
This wouldn't be possible without people giving up their time to help organise the event and I am incredibly proud that several members of Year 12 were able to help in this way.
One of them, Scarlet Khodawizi says this about her experience of the day:
"Volunteering for the North London Hospice and partaking in the 2025 Big Fun Walk has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The day consisted of meeting the sweetest group of people and contributing to a really valuable community, which leaves me feeling really content. Being able to help such a special cause like the North London Hospice is a privilege, knowing that my time on the day is going towards an incredibly deserving organisation, and even more so to the deserving people they support.
To all others, I would definitely recommend volunteering in future years to come. The Big Fun Walk is such a valuable experience which allows you to socialise with and support such a special part of our London community, making for an extremely fun day."
North London Hospice have another fundraising event coming up if you would like to take part.
On Your Marks… Get Set… MARSHAL!
Race the Neighbours is back this summer and we need brilliant volunteers to support on the day.
Sunday 29 June
A fantastic 10K run through East Finchley and Muswell Hill, starting at Cherry Tree Wood.
We’re looking for friendly faces to:
Keep our runners safe and smiling
Direct them along the route
Cheer them on with all the positive vibes
A message from Greg, who originated Race the Neighbours:
“What really makes Race the Neighbours special is the community. A lot of races can feel a bit impersonal, but this one’s got a proper heart. People started calling it ‘London’s friendliest 10k,’ and that sort of became our unofficial motto. It just feels like a big neighbourhood party with a finish line.”
Just bring your energy, a comfy pair of shoes, and we’ll kit you out with a foam finger and all the info you need. It’s a fun way to be part of a feel-good community event and support North London Hospice at the same time.
Fancy being part of the team?
Email us at: lmorrison@northlondonhospice.co.uk and we’ll get you signed up.
Let’s help our runners go the distance – with your help, they’ll never take a wrong turn!
Fancy taking part as a runner?

Some of our Year 10 students took part in a practice expedition yesterday and today in preparation for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, with the qualifying expedition just two weeks away.
Mr Gough and Ms Brohan accompanied the group to East Grinstead, where students camped overnight and faced challenging weather conditions. Despite the wind and rain, they demonstrated impressive resilience, teamwork, and commitment throughout the experience.
