London School of Economics Mooting Competition
Congratulations to two CCF 6th Formers, Scarlet K and Timi O, who won the LSE School Moot on Wednesday 4th February.
They had to take part in a mock court case against students from 15 other schools, also attending a criminal law masterclass held by university staff.
A fantastic opportunity and achievement for them both!

6th Form Visit to Shrewsbury Prison
Our Psychology and Sociology sixth form trip to Shrewsbury prison offered a fascinating and thought-provoking journey inside one of Britain’s most notorious Victorian prisons.
Students explored the prison, including original cells, corridors and wings, as well as learning about daily life for prisoners including routines, punishments and living conditions. It was an unforgettable experience.
Thank you to Ms Bitlice for organising the trip, Ms Varsani for attending and Ms Brohan for driving everyone safely there and back!
Year 8 & 9 See The Lion King
Year 8 and 9 Spanish students recently enjoyed an enriching trip to London to watch The Lion King at the theatre, travelling together by tube and representing the school impeccably throughout the day with their excellent behaviour. The journey through the capital added to the excitement of the experience, and students were captivated by the spectacular performance, including the impressive costumes, music and staging, which left a lasting impression on them all.
Many students described feeling truly mesmerised by the production, and the visit has provided valuable cultural inspiration that will now be used as a stimulus for extended writing and discussion in their Spanish lessons.
Thank you to Ms Goodhead for organising the trip and Ms Bose, Mr Baron, Ms Bitlice, Ms McMorrow and Mrs Cowan for accompanying all the 40 students.
UCL Visit
We were very fortunate to host students from University College London (UCL) this week as part of their teacher training programme.
During their visit, they observed best practice in formative assessment within mathematics lessons across the Maths Department.
Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge - Barnet Final
We are incredibly proud of Lily in Year 10, who recently represented CCF at the Jack
Petchey Speak Out Challenge Barnet Final. The Speak Out Challenge is a nationally
recognised programme that helps young people develop confidence and public
speaking skills, culminating in a regional final where students deliver a prepared
speech to a live audience and VIP judges from a variety of businesses and
professions in Barnet. Lily spoke with confidence and maturity on the topic of mental
health and did a fantastic job of representing our school among many talented
students from across the borough. Congratulations to Lily on this brilliant
achievement!
