Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Dear families,
It has been an action-packed week at CCF once again. Firstly, thank you to the parents of Year 7 pupils who attended Year 7 parents’ evening on Wednesday and to Ms Ireland, Head of Year 7, for organising the event. The year group have settled into life at Christ’s College, Finchley incredibly well and have continued to impress with their excellent attitudes to learning.
There have been a number of trips this week including: a trip to Bletchley Park for A-level Computer Science students; a trip to Christ Church, Oxford, and one to LSE, for Sixth Form students; a trip to Shrewsbury Prison for A-level Psychology and Sociology students; and a trip to see The Lion King for Year 8 and 9 Spanish students. I know parents and carers value these enriching experiences and I am grateful to the staff who led and attended the trips and to the pupils who were impressive in their conduct on all of the visits. A special mention to Lily, 10A, who represented CCF at the borough finals of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge on Wednesday evening and was impressive in her presentation, and to Ms Subramoney, Head of History and Politics, who led on the organisation of the Speak Out Challenge, and to Adam in Year 13 who has received an offer to read History at the University of Cambridge in September.
Finally, next week is the last week of this half term and Friday 13 February 2026 will be a non-uniform day to raise money towards the Year 11 prom. Pupils should ideally wear something red, white or pink on Friday and a donation of £2 is requested via ParentPay. As always, it is a normal school day and therefore pupils must dress appropriately for school; for example, pupils must wear clothing that covers their midriff and avoid strappy tops and high-heeled shoes. Any make-up or jewellery worn must be subtle and there can be no offensive logos or wording on clothing. Should pupils arrive in clothing that is not appropriate, we will ask families to drop off a change of clothes and pupils will be out of circulation until they are able to change.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a peaceful weekend.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
