Hadley Wood LTC Inclusive Event: A Celebration of Sport, Skill, and Teamwork
Hadley Wood LTC hosted a remarkable inclusive sports event on Wednesday 2nd July. It truly showcased the incredible talent, determination, and sportsmanship of our members. It was an afternoon filled with fun, friendly competition, and plenty of inspiring moments.
Harley & Nasim’s Exemplary Sportsmanship
Harley and Nasim were the shining stars of the day, displaying not only their impressive sporting abilities but also their outstanding sportsmanship. They both played with a spirit of camaraderie that encouraged others while showing respect for their fellow competitors. They were great role models for everyone involved.
Anastasia’s Throwing Precision
Anastasia absolutely wowed the crowd with her throwing skills. Whether it was a long, high arc or a perfect underhand toss, she displayed focus and skill, making her one of the day’s stand-out performers.
Kaydon: The Tennis Prodigy
When it comes to raw talent, Kaydon is the future of tennis at Hadley Wood. He went toe-to-toe with one of their seasoned tennis members and proved that he’s not just an upcoming star, but a force to be reckoned with.
Julian’s Powerful Serves
Julian’s serves were nothing short of impressive. Each one came with power and precision that made us all take notice. His serves were fast and challenging his opponents to rise to the occasion. We’re sure to see more of Julian’s fiery serves in future matches!
Eliza’s Perfect Aim
She nailed almost every throw to her partner, showing good aim and timing in almost each attempt. Eliza’s fun spirit led to giggles between her and her partner.
Adam’s Determined Roll
Adam’s determination was a highlight of the day. He was relentless in his efforts to roll the ball into the cone, showing persistence and focus throughout the event. His dedication paid off, and his drive to succeed reminded us all of the importance of pushing through challenges, no matter how tough.
Shaan’s Speed & Energy
Shaan was a bundle of energy, zipping across the court with the speed of a tennis ball. His agility was truly impressive as he moved from one side of the court to the other, making incredible saves and showing an infectious enthusiasm for the game. It’s no wonder he quickly became a crowd favorite!
Usman’s Teamwork Excellence
Last but certainly not least, Usman displayed fantastic teamwork in a mini game of tennis. His chemistry with his partner was evident from the start, and the way they communicated and worked together was a joy to watch. Usman’s ability to coordinate with his teammate made them an unstoppable pair on the court.
A Medal for Every Participant
To celebrate their fantastic commitment and effort throughout the day, every participant walked away with a well-deserved medal. Each medal represented not only skill and perseverance but also the spirit of inclusivity, community, and teamwork that makes our club such a special place.
This event was a perfect example of the power of sport to bring people together, regardless of ability. We want to thank all of the participants for their incredible spirit and effort, and a big thank you to our coaches and volunteers for making this event possible. We look forward to seeing more of these amazing athletes in future events!
If you’re looking to be inspired, look no further than the members of Hadley Wood LTC—each one of them showed us what it means to compete with heart, determination, and an unshakable sense of community.
London Zoo Trip
On Monday, we were fortunate to have beautiful weather as 24 Year 7 and 8 students made their way through Camden to London Zoo for their reward trip, after producing exemplary posters on conservation during Science Week earlier this year.
The weather was boiling but added to the feeling of being on safari when we saw the giraffes and zebras, as well as giving us an extra appreciation for the cooler indoor exhibits on reptiles and bugs. As always, our CCF students represented the school perfectly, asking intelligent questions of the keepers and one group getting a guided tour through the butterfly pavilion from the ZSL education team.
Finally, it was a great finish to a great day with ice creams all round and a quick visit to the (air-conditioned!) gift shop. Thank you to Mr Oliver and Miss Dap for accompanying me, and of course to the students for their hugely positive attitude despite the heat, and their enthusiasm for everything we saw!
Ms Rogers
Good Luck Cassius!
Cassius in Year 10, has been selected for the regional trials for Middlesex CC. He has got through the Borough (Barnet and Enfield) process and performed extremely well in these games this season and is only one of a couple of boys who have got through and been selected for regionals. He’s been selected for both his wicket keeping and batting. These trials take place in August and all at CCF wish him the best of luck!
