Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Dear families,
This week is the start of October and I would like to remind families to ensure that your child dresses appropriately for the changing weather. October also marks Black History Month, and throughout the month there will be a variety of activities, including assemblies and displays. Some of these events will be shared on our Instagram page, and we encourage you to follow along.
Last Friday saw the first PFA event of the year and the bingo evening was a real success. I may not have won but I did learn a lot of different bingo calls (67 being the most popular with the younger bingo players) and it was lovely to see members of our school community coming together. I would like to say a big thank you to the PFA for organising and running the event, and to everyone who attended. The evening raised over £1,400 and our school council are already coming up with a number of ideas for how to spend these funds.
Our first Parent Voice session of this academic year will take place in person on Tuesday 14 October 2025 6-7pm. Please email info@ccfplus.com if you would like to join our Parent Voice group.
This week is national school census day and I am pleased to share that our current roll is 1003, showing that CCF is the school of choice for our community. Next week I am hosting a number of open mornings for prospective families and we have had to add extra slots as they have booked up so quickly which is fantastic. As ever, our pupils are our best ambassadors and they will be showing prospective families around and answering any questions as they showcase the school.
I would like to thank parents of Year 8 pupils who attended the Year 8 parent information evening on Tuesday and thank Mr Zanjani, Head of Year 8, and Mr Lee, Assistant Headteacher, for hosting the informative session.
On Monday we had a visit from the K9 drug detection dog. I would like to reassure parents that, as I wrote in the ITL at the start of the year, this is not in response to any concerns but part of our preventative safeguarding measures. I am grateful to Ms Pullan and Ms Brohan for organising the day and to all of our pupils who responded with maturity and interest.
Finally, I wish you all a lovely weekend.
Dr Ruth Hill
Headteacher
