Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Enjoy the sun this weekend!
Dear families,
I would like to start by thanking those of you who have sent a thank you to a member of staff as part of next week’s Thank a Teacher day. Should parents/carers wish to thank an individual member of staff or group, please click here to complete the short form which then sends a thank you card to the school email address.
On Wednesday we hosted Daniel Sobel, who advises the DfE and overseas governments on inclusion, to review our provision for pupils with special educational needs. I believe external scrutiny is a key aspect of school improvement and it was lovely to welcome Daniel and he was very impressed with what he saw on his visit and particularly noted our commitment to supporting all of our pupils to achieve their undoubted potential.
Year 11 and Year 13 pupils are coming to the end of their exams and I know they are looking forward to the completion of their exams and Year 11 pupils are looking forward to their prom next Friday evening. There have been a number of trips again this week, including a debate trip to the Oxford Union, a History trip to the Senate House library yesterday, two History trips to Notting Hill and a trip to the Carnegie library trip today. As ever, I am grateful to all the staff who support our pupils with the preparation for their exams and with trips, and grateful to parents/carers for your support.
I would also like to remind parents and carers that we have the final INSET day of the year on Wednesday 18th June 2025 and teachers will be spending the day on curriculum development, reviewing and refining our curriculum. Pupils should return to school on Thursday 19th June 2025.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a lovely weekend.
Dr Ruth Hill
