An endowment is a beautiful tribute to someone’s life. Dr. Leon and Rosemary Peschong felt strongly about the benefits of a Catholic Education. It is apparent as the fourth generation of their family attends John Paul II School today. Having both graduated from Catholic schools, they wanted the same for their children. Today, their great-grandchildren are afforded the same opportunity. After Leon and Rosemary had both passed away, their children wanted to honor their lives in a meaningful way. It made sense to honor them by supporting what was important to them, a Christ-centered education. In February of 2010, the Dr. Leon and Rosemary Peschong Endowment for John Paul II Catholic School was established. Thank you Peschong family for your legacy of faith!
An endowment fund is a perpetual fund, created by charitable donations in the form of cash, stocks, mutual funds, real property, or other personal property given to the Foundation. The practice of investing the principal, rather than spending it, creates a perpetual fund. Most of an endowment’s annual earnings are distributed to the designated benefactors, in this case, John Paul II School. Endowments provide a “forever-giving” funding source for Catholic programs and activities. A gift in your will could establish an endowment and a lasting legacy for you, your family, and benefactor.
