Private lessons offer individual help for your growing string player. Private lesson teachers can focus on tone and intonation, performing a solo, and more advanced techniques that we may not have time to cover in depth in class. Private lessons are usually once a week and range from 30-45 minutes (more advanced students often take 1 hour lessons). Students should study with a specialist on his or her instrument. Private lessons can help challenge and motivate our advanced students and offer extra help for a student who may be struggling.
In addition to private lessons, there are lots of opportunities and great private teachers with the Hochstein School of Music. They have Youth Orchestras for which you can audition, if you are looking for another orchestra to play with in addition to school orchestra. The Eastman Community Music School also offers private lessons.
Sullivan Violins offers an excellent resource to find private lesson teachers for any string instrument.
