One of the many reasons I became a teacher is because I have a love for learning. Learning with my students, learning for my students, and learning for myself are what I enjoy most. There are many ways to continue learning and become a life-long learner and increase your professional development. Professional Learning is an important part of teachers continuing their life long learning in the education field. Some of the best professional learning can come from their own peers and colleagues within their building. “Every teacher in your building has their own unique blend of skills and talents, but the only way you’ll ever learn about them is to see your colleagues in action.” (Gonzalez, J. 2016).
Teachers are constantly doing amazing things that engage their learners, motivate students, and are successful in helping students not only master the standards but apply it to real world contexts. Over the course of the years, teachers are engaging in more intentional collaboration to work together for the success of their students. This collaboration can be done in small groups or larger groups. The focus of teacher collaboration is primarily the students learning. Questions may be asked like "How can we improve this strategy to engage our students more?" "What are some strategies you used to help your students understand this concept?" "Can you share about this activity you are doing with your students because they were really engaged when I peeked in?"
One of the ways that teachers can share the incredible instruction they are providing to their students is with a strategy called "Pineapple Charts."
