Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! My name is Vanessa Lozada, and I look forward to being your son or daughter’s Spanish teacher this year. This is my 18th year teaching Spanish in Columbia County, and I enjoy the challenge and reward of seeing students grow in their language skills.
As both a teacher and a parent, I understand how important it is for us to work together to support your child's success. This year, I will be teaching Spanish 2, Spanish 3, Spanish 4, and AP Spanish Language and Culture.
If there is anything you feel I should know about your student that would help me be a better teacher for them and ensure they have a positive and successful experience in my class, please don't hesitate to email me. Welcome to the 2026-2027 school year! My name is Vanessa Lozada, and I'm excited to be your teacher. To help you stay organized and informed, please make sure you have access to both Microsoft 365 and Google Classroom. These platforms will be essential for communication and for receiving important updates about assignments and assessments.
Once you sign in to Google Classroom, you’ll be able to view your weekly agenda and access resources for each unit. I will provide the class codes for each period during the first week of school. There, you’ll find everything you need—from assignments to assessments and helpful materials.
Remember: Siempre hay algo que practicar y algo que aprender en español.

¡Hola! My name is Vanessa Lozada, and I’m thrilled to be your Spanish teacher this year. I was born in Spain and raised in Puerto Rico, which has given me a deep appreciation for language and culture. My husband proudly serves in the U.S. Army, and because of his career, we’ve had the opportunity to live in several different states.
We have three wonderful daughters who graduated from both Grovetown High School and the University of Georgia, and we also have a lovable dog who keeps us on our toes! I enjoy sports, music, and learning about different cultures, all of which I love bringing into the classroom.
Before becoming a teacher, I earned an associate degree in physical therapy from the University of Puerto Rico, Humacao. Later, I pursued my passion for education at what is now Augusta University, where I earned a BA in Spanish Teaching, as well as a Master’s (MEd) and Specialist (EdS) degree in Curriculum & Instruction. I also hold endorsements in Gifted Education and ESOL. I am also AP Spanish Language and Culture certified.
I’m excited to share my love for the Spanish language and culture with you. Let’s make this a great year together!
How can I access Classlink? Questions about Google Classroom for Students?
You will be given Google Classroom Codes in class at the end of the first week of school.
AP students need a portfolio binder or plastic folder with prongs for their project in addition to the one used daily for class.

1 - composition notebook (please make sure that you have a composition notebook dedicated to Spanish)
Important: Highlighters (at least 2 in different colors for Spanish 2 and 3) (at least 4 different colors for AP and Spanish 4 students)
Writing utensils (pencils, erasers, and pens - at least 3 different colored ink pens.)
At home, you can keep project resources such as scissors, glue, color pencils or markers, cardboard, etc.
If you don't have access to technology at home, please let me know.

Need Extra Help or Make-Up Work?
If you ever need extra help or need to make up an assignment or assessment, please check in with me. Our school offers an after-school activity service, which makes those days the best times for tutoring and make-up work. We may also be able to work on something during Warrior Period. I’m here to support you, just reach out and we’ll find a time that works!
