Welcome to 6th grade social studies!!! I am excited to have you in my class! We will have a wonderful year as we explore the world! Below is some important information about our class. Please ask if you have any questions!
Please bring paper, your binder, and a pencil to class daily. If you are able to, then please also bring colored pencils to class daily. Please check the Weekly Assessment Calendar. In addition, please look in Google Classroom for various assignments and lesson plans.

C 79-73
D 72-70
F Below 70

Summative Assessments: 60%
Formative Assessments: 40%
Academic Expectations:
Follow directions the first time given, and ask for clarification when needed.
Be punctual every day prepared to learn.
Maintain quality work.
Bring all necessary supplies daily.
Adhere to class, team, and school-wide expectations.
Classwork/Homework/Quizzes: Students will complete in-class assignments for grades. Additionally, quizzes will be administered throughout the social studies unit. Homework, when assigned, should be completed and turned in by the designated time. Students are expected to write down all homework/important dates in their student agenda daily.
Students need to keep an organized binder with a social studies tab . If they have extra tabs, it would be beneficial to have the following tabs: Notes, Daily Work, Maps (All Year), Quizzes, Tests, and Projects. Students will also need to bring their binder to class daily.
Make-Up Work: Please remember it is your responsibility to get the work you missed and turn it in within a timely manner.
Tutoring:
Tutoring is offered on an as-needed basis. Tutorial students must arrive promptly in order to maintain a serious learning environment and to address student needs. Please see me if you are interested in tutoring.

Google Classroom
Students will receive a code to join our Google Classroom page, which serves as a central hub for many important resources, updated assignments, and plans. Please encourage your child to check it regularly and share their learning with you at home.
