My students are my main priority daily! My goal is to help my students achieve their best, so that upon exiting my class and upon graduation, each is prepared to communicate effectively. English class provides all with the opportunity to develop, strengthen, and fine-tune the ability to read, understand, interpret, communicate with the written and spoken word, and problem-solve. No matter where my students end up, they will have the skills needed to be the best they can be and the ability to take on the world!
And a few personal tidbits about me...
2 is the number of degrees I hold: BS in English Education from Florida State University, MA in Educational Studies from Oakland University, and Georgia Gifted Certification
3 is the number of children I have: three girls ages 27 (an attourney ), 23 (a recent business management graduate from Georgia College competing an intership at Disney World), and 19 (a Sophomore chemical engineer major at Mississippi State).
4 is the number of states in which I have lived: Ohio, Florida, Michigan, Georgia.
5 is the number of hobbies I have: reading, gardening, cycling, walking, cooking; and the number of pets (four dogs - two Parson Russell Terriers: Murphy and Bean, and a Plot Hound and a Redtick Coon Hound: Bonnie and Roscoe, and a cockatiel - Mango) I have, not including the chickens (15 currently) - YIKES!!!
29 is the number of years I have been teaching: four in Florida, eleven in Michigan, and fourteen at Evans High School; 23 of those years teaching American Literature.
30 is the number of years I have been married to Mr. Lanoue, the best man in the universe, who is a mechanical and test engineer at John Deere! :)
180 is the minimum number of days I hope to have a positive impact in your life!
3,500 is the approximate number of students I have taught over the years. That's A LOT of teaching!
