PK Lead Teacher

Hello! My name is Gracie Smith and I am one of the Pre-Kindergarten teachers at Grovetown Elementary School. In December of 2022, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education. I have been teaching Pre-K at GTE since January 2023. I have always had a passion for education and I cannot wait to share my love of learning with your child!

In my free time I enjoy kayaking with my husband, cooking, and snuggling under a cozy blanket with a good book!

Pre-K is such a special time and I am so excited to see how much our class grows! I am tremendously looking forward to the 2026-2027 school year!

PK Paraprofessional

Hi! My name is Glenn Bonesteel and I am the Pre-K Paraprofessional for Mrs. Smith’s classroom. This will be my 12th year as a paraprofessional in Pre-K at Grovetown Elementary. Prior, I spent 15 wonderful years as a stay-at-home dad raising my two children. In the classroom, I enjoy watching the sweet kids grow throughout the school year. I love seeing their smiling faces and their exciting enthusiasm for learning in a school environment. I look forward to this school year!

PK Special Education Teacher

Hello! My name is Mrs. Candace Dunaway. I am a veteran teacher with 27 years experience. I have taught K-5 and am excited to add Pre-K to my teaching career this year! I attended Augusta State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education. I later went to Troy State University and received my Masters Degree in Instructional Technology.

I have been married for 21 years. My husband and I love to cruise. I am a mom to a teenage daughter, Emma. She graduated from RCTCM. She is currently working and is planning on going to college to be a nurse. I am also a Frenchie/Weenie dog mom and a cat mom. My family and pets are my life outside of education. In my spare time, in the fall, you will find me rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs!

PK SPED Paraprofessional

Hi! My name is Kaitlin Reynolds, and I am so excited to join the team as a Special Education Pre-K Paraprofessional this year! This is my very first school year here in Georgia, and I couldn't be happier to start this new journey with your children.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Community Youth Development and am currently pursuing my Master’s degree to become a certified teacher in Georgia. Before moving here, I was a preschool teacher and worked in a 2nd-grade Autism classroom in New York while starting my graduate studies. I am originally from Rochester, NY, so I am definitely used to a LOT of snow!

At home, my husband and I have two wonderful dogs named Athena and Juno. Athena is a loving lab mix, and Juno is a Dalmatian—just like the ones in Disney’s 101 Dalmatians! Speaking of Disney, I LOVE Disney. I also enjoy exploring new places and eating sushi.

I am beyond excited for this school year. I look forward to partnering with you to help our little learners thrive, grow, and reach new milestones every day—and I can't wait for all the wonderful things they will teach me along the way!
