My name is Samantha Hartley and I'm proud to serve as one of Greenbrier's Gifted Resource teachers. I’m so excited for this year with you and your children! This is my 11th year teaching at GBE, and I feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a supportive and vibrant school community. Over the years, I’ve taught both 3rd, 4th grade, and this is my second year working with our gifted students.
Teaching is truly my passion, and I feel blessed to come to a job each day that brings me so much joy. I take the responsibility of educating children seriously, but I also believe that learning should be fun, engaging, and meaningful. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, challenged, and excited to learn.
Beyond academics, I’m deeply committed to helping students grow as kind, respectful individuals. I emphasize character building, teamwork, problem-solving, and perseverance. One of the greatest joys of teaching is getting to know families over time—especially when I have the opportunity to teach siblings of former students!
I hold a master's degree from Augusta University. I also have a reading endorsement and completed a year-long STEM course through the University of Toledo, which helped to build my love and approach to hands-on, inquiry-based learning.
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time outdoors and enjoying nature. I’m an avid reader, gardener, puzzle enthusiast, and I love serving with the children at my church.
I'm looking forward to a fun year of learning with y(our) kiddos!
