August 14, 2024 Your Hogwarts professors delivered the Harry Potter Club acceptance letters!
Early in the morning, the students filed in, ready to receive their first book of the seven we will read this year. They were invited to eat some Harry Potter-themed snacks, for example, some Huffle-Puffs, Slitherin Snakes, Gryffindor Grapes, Basilisk Blood, Black pudding, and a sorting cheese hat!
The Headmaster, Mrs. James, introduced them to the activities that they will take part in, as well as ways to participate, earn house points, and get all-around involved in the fun that comes with reading.
At the end of the meeting, books were signed out to the club members and they were set free to read the first nine chapters of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

We finished Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone which is a huge accomplishment! Collectively we have read 2,462,608 words.
We threw a huge Hogwarts breakfast-style celebration!
We had egg casserole, sausages, grits, sausage bread, pumpkin cookies, muffins, doughnuts, jugs of apple and orange juice and more!
All in all, it was great to see all of the houses mingling and sharing a good time with friends!
And some people couldn't wait to get into the next book.
Dry potions are perfect for decorating around anyone's house! By combining two different ingredients we made these lovely crafts.
We wouldn't want them to have a difficult reaction
Not a single sparkle was out of place
These students worked together and ended up with an identical result!
Book 2 Celebration
Today, in the Harry Potter club, we celebrated finishing our 2nd book! That's a huge accomplishment to get 32 students to read!
Nearly-Headless Nick celebrated his 500th death day, so we celebrated with graveyard 'mud.'
Pumpkin bread, fresh from the Hogwarts Halloween feast.
Cream cheese Basilisk to celebrate the big battle! Complete with 'diary' pages from Tom Riddle's book.
Professor Sprout provided some veggies from her garden.
The best part of the day was when our school's groundskeepers (custodians) came in to celebrate with us!
We celebrated with some fun fellowship, games, and cheer with our peers! It is truly so fun to hear the new-to-the-fandom people start gushing about their favorite parts so-far!
Recreating the Basilisk scene at the end of the book
We love the adorable forked-tongue of the Cheesy snake!
Fun with food and friends!
Message from the Headmaster after the Hurricane
Message from the headmaster:
Dear esteemed students,
Professor White and I truly hope everyone faired well through the disastrous hurricane this past week. We have been waiting to get back together to celebrate being here, and safe, and hopefully, you had some delightful reading to help get through the days without electricity or internet. We would love to welcome you back for regular meetings starting Tuesday, October 9th.
As this was the week we were supposed to finish the 3rd book, we would have had our celebration, but we will be postponing that until next Thursday. We will be passing out the fourth book, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Tuesday, and Thursday. Please read through chapter 9 by next week.
We look forward to resuming our meetings and regular activity with all of you!
Kindest regards,
Erin James
Headmaster

The Prisoner of Azkaban
Today's celebration was for finishing book 3! Our theme was Hogwarts Halloween feast and we had lots of comfort food! Chicken and rice, Macaroni and cheese, Harvest fruits, Bagels and more!
We had an extra special guest join us for this celebration! Mr. Hatfield presented us with a check for $450 to support the Harry Potter Club from a Cafeteria Worker who passed away. She served Columbia County in South Columbia's cafeteria for decades, back when Mrs. James attended that elementary school. He said that she knew this was something she would have wanted to support! Thank you Mr. Hatfield and Lucy!
And then, as if we couldn't have any more fun, Gryffindor found October's hidden Golden Snitch! That means 150 points goes to Gryffindor!!!
For our care of magical creatures lesson, we needed to have our textbooks. So we crafted our very own Monster Book of Monsters. Each ended up with their own personality!
November 14, 2024
Today's lesson had us visiting the Owlry to create our very own Owls!
December 19 was our gigantic Holiday Party. We played Secret Santa, exchanged gifts, played some holiday games, and ate delicious food!
We are thrilled to announce our prefects and head boy and Head girl. These students have exemplified everything it means to be in the Harry Potter Club. Not only that but they will assist their Headmaster with duties like encouraging their houses to turn earn their final house points in the final two months left of the club!
