We're so excited to invite you to the Lakeside Middle School Harry Potter Club. We will read all seven books this school year. This club is perfect for the biggest fans to those who haven't even read the books, yet! All levels to the fandom are welcome.
All students accepted to the Harry Potter Club must have their $30 fee paid on Revtrack before the first meeting.
The Harry Potter Club runs every other school year. We will start sending out applications at the end of this 2025-2026 school year.
If accepted, meetings are mandatory Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Students will be sorted into houses and will spend the year participating in activities and events to earn the House Cup at the end of the year. (A grand banquet where all students and families are invited)
Dressing up is allowed, however students must return to their muggle clothing once the school day starts.
Club dues must be paid before the sorting ceremony. We have a limited number of book sets, so if you have your own set of Harry Potter novels you are encouraged to use those for the year.
Reading is rigorous and students will be expected to read between 5 to 9 chapters each week. Some students prefer to listen to the audiobook, which is just as acceptable as reading! (Professor James loves listening to the audiobooks, too!) Spoilers will not be tolerated and can result in a loss of house points for revealing secrets intentionally before the other members have had a chance to experience the magic, twists and turns, and thrill of reading the books.
New changes for the upcoming club:
Repeat members in 8th grade will help to run the club as prefects.Â
This includes gathering members before the meetings, helping to collect and tally house points, and assisting with the magical classes and events.
There may be some after-school events that students may attend such as:
Movie nights (families welcome)
Trivia nights (families welcome)
Club shirts will be $20 and can be purchased after the sorting ceremony.
As always you are welcome to message the club's headmaster, erin.james@ccboe.net with any questions, comments, concerns.
A local artist, Si-Lon Chen designed and painted beautiful house goblets for our club! They are gorgeous!
Thursday students will be participating in a semester-long herbology project.
Today's lesson had us visiting the Owlry and creating our very own Hogwarts-approved pet!
Use the calendar below to stay up to date with what we are reading in the Harry Potter Club. It will also show upcoming events, and other information to keep students on track.
The best part of the week is when our school's groundskeepers (custodians) come in to celebrate with us!
