Textbooks
Beginning of the Year
Items are checked out in the media center the first two weeks of school.
New students are issued textbooks upon enrollment.
Students will complete a "Textbook Damage Form" documenting damages upon receipt of the book. It is their responsibility to go through each of their books and note any damages on the form and turn the form in to the Learning Commons staff. This form is kept on file in the media center.
All overdue textbooks from previous years must be returned (or paid for) before textbooks for the current year will be issued.
All items are checked out through Destiny which can be accessed at any time through ClassLink.
Students are accountable for items checked out through Destiny.
End of the Year
All items are returned to the media center. Students are responsible to personally return items to Mrs. Livingston or Mrs. Childs and have each item scanned in before leaving the media center.
Each student is responsible to ensure that he/she is returning his/her books and not a friend’s book.
Do NOT use the book drop to return textbooks at the end of the year.
Exam Exemptions
Textbooks for semester long classes must be turned in before students can receive an exam exemption form for Semester 1 exams.
All textbooks must be turned in before students can receive an exam exemption form for Semester 2 exams.
All student fines must be paid to be eligible for exam exemption.
Click Here for Board Policy IHAA governing exam exemptions.
Fines
Students may look up their checkouts and fines in Destiny.

Textbook Tips
Keep up with your books!
It is not a good idea to keep them in a classroom, locker room, cafeteria., etc…
Be careful allowing friends borrow your book(s). If your friend loses your book, you are still responsible for payment.
Cover your books with a paper bag or something similar. Book socks do not do a good job protecting books.
Covering a textbook with a paper bag is better than covering it with a book sock.
