Theatre Fundamentals is a year-long fine arts class. Theatre fundamentals are the core elements and basic skills needed to create a live performance, focusing on actors, the audience, and the physical space
During the school year, we will be discussing theatre history, studying musical and technical theatre, reading award-winning plays, and familiarizing ourselves with theater terminology and acting techniques such as pantomime and improvisation. Think of it as learning the basics in all areas involving theatre arts. We will be applying our public speaking skills, history knowledge, math skills, and even experimenting with arts and crafts during the year.
Well... if you want the credit, yes. I understand performing in front of others can be stressful, but we will work on those skills in class. One of my favorite things students have told me in the past is how they started off terrified of performing, then grew to really love it (or at least, became comfortable with it).
