APUSH OVERVIEW

AP United States History (abbreviated as APUSH) is a demanding college-level course that centers around seven themes and 19 key concepts from 1491 to the Present (9 Periods). It tests the boundaries and conditions of American society through innovative lesson plans and interactive lectures. APUSH will cover political, economic, religious, social, intellectual, and artistic trends within eight historical thinking skills. The course will help improve the ability to analyze historical documents and express historical understanding in writing and presentation. The course will fully prepare students to take part in the re-designed AP U.S. History Exam this May. The redesigned AP exam format will include 55 multiple choice questions, 3 short answers, a Document-Based Question, and a Long Essay.
