Welcome Letter

Dear Students and Parents,

We are going to have a great year with the Evans High School Model United Nations Team! I am always amazed by the dedication and diligence I see in our Model UN students. Parents, you should be proud that your student is willing to do the things required of each delegate when they go to conferences: public speaking, negotiating, persuasive writing, and following the rules required of the parliamentary process.

We plan to attend two local conferences in the fall of 2025 and two university-sponsored conferences in the spring of 2026. These trips are expensive, but students get much more out of the conferences than the monetary cost.  

To help defray the expenses,  we will do several fundraisers this year. However, this does not cover all of the costs for each trip which include conference registration, lodging, and Columbia County school bus transportation. Therefore, we will have to require students going to the conferences to pay for their participation. Those costs will be calculated before each conference 

To reduce the amount of money we have to earn through fundraising, membership dues are $30 for the year. This can be paid on the school website through RevTrak.

All Model UN students need to register for my Remind 101 messages, and I encourage parents to register as well.
