B. Art Room Procedures
1. Entering the classroom – Enter the classroom quietly. Read the board, get your materials, and work quietly on the assignment on the board until class starts.
2. Whole class focus – During this time you are expected to be engaged in the class demonstration or discussion. This means that you are quiet, seated, and facing whoever is talking to the class. Please raise your hand to speak.
3. Studio time – After Mrs. Morris's instructions, begin working on the day’s project. The first 15 minutes of studio time, you are to work quietly and not talk. This helps students focus on their creative work. Please raise your hand and get permission to get out of your seat. When a demonstration or teaching is happening, you are expected to immediately stop what you are doing, be quiet, and focus on the teacher.
4. Clean-up – The last three to five minutes of each class well be spent cleaning. Any materials used during class time must be put back in their proper place, nothing is left on your desks, chairs, or on the floor. Once you are done cleaning your area, please sit in your seat.
5. Dismissal – You may only leave the classroom with the teacher’s permission. When Mrs. Morris announces the end of class, you are expected to stop working and begin cleaning and putting back your materials. Once you have completed your responsibilities, you will return to your seat and wait to be dismissed. To leave during class, you must have your pass sheet issued by Mrs. Morris. Please sign out on the class clipboard when you leave and sign in when you return to class.
