Mrs. Gray's 5th Grade - ABOUT MRS. GRAY

Hi! My name is Kellie Gray. I am excited to be teaching your 5th grader math & science this year!

* This is my 13th year teaching and my 8th year at Cedar Ridge!

* My bachelors degree is in Speech Communication. I then went on to get my Masters of Science in Teaching in 2001. I also have my Gifted Endorsement. I am certified to teach pre-k through 8th grade in all subjects.

*I have been married for 22 years to my husband Dennis and we have two children. Sammie is in 12th grade at Grovetown High School and Alex is at Columbia Middle School in 8th grade.

*I am originally from upstate New York and relocated to the south because my husband was in the military. I have lived in upstate New York; Atlanta, Georgia; Huntingdon, England; Grovetown, Georgia; Fort Irwin, California and settled back here permanently in 2013.

A few things I love!

*I LOVE teaching and know that it is my passion, especially teaching math. Too many times I have students come in saying they 'hate math' and 'it's too hard'. My goal is to reverse that and get students to say 'I LOVE math'! Math is everywhere around us and is needed every single day. I hope to instill a love of math in each student, especially as they bridge over to middle school.

* I ~love~ all things Disney! I went for the first time when I was 26 years old, and I loved it so much we have been going multiple times a year since then. I have been to Disneyland Paris, Walt Disney World, Disneyland California, and on several Disney Cruises.

* I love coffee and enjoy a nice Starbucks treat when I can. A skinny vanilla latte is my favorite!

* My favorite color is yellow... it is just happy!

* Scents that I love are food flavored ones --- coffee, vanilla, pumpkin... I am not a big fan of perfume or flowery smells.

* My favorite fast food restaurant is Jersey Mikes.

* My favorite school supplies are fun pens and fun notepads/post-its! And of course, anything Disney-fied!

* I love plain old bottled water when not drinking coffee.

*I LOVE being able to teach your 5th grader this year!!!
