Hello! This is my second year teaching fourth grade at Westmont. I have been a substitute teacher at WES for the last 5 years and absolutely love our school. So, it made perfect sense for this to be where I kicked off my official teaching career.
Teaching is a second career for me but a definite calling. I received my PhD in Analytical Chemistry from Clemson University. After graduating, I worked as a research scientist at Georgia Tech in Atlanta where I contracted with Interpol to identify counterfeit medications sold at street markets in Europe. Science will always be a huge passion of mine; as all the kids know and jokingly call me Ms. Frizzle. When my husband and I had kids, I decided to leave the research world to become a full time mom.
My husband, Daniel, and I have a been married for over 20 years and have two adorable kids! We have a 5th grader, Austin, and a 6th grader named Ansley. Austin and Ansley both attended Westmont Elementary School. We are a Westmont family through and through!
I am so excited to kick off this school year. I believe "Where there is a will, there is a Westy way!"
