At the Council of Canadians of African and Caribbean Heritage (CCACH), our programs empower, educate, and celebrate the diverse cultures of African and Caribbean communities in Edmonton and beyond.
We offer a range of supportive, culturally-informed initiatives for youth, families, and the broader community
Our annual Jeopardy-style quiz event celebrates Black history and the achievements of people of African and Caribbean descent. Open to students from Grades 1–12 and adults, AfroQuiz inspires learning, teamwork, and pride in heritage.
Academic support for Grades 1–12, blending educational excellence with cultural pride. Sessions are held on Saturdays, both in-person and online, helping students build confidence, skills, and a strong sense of belonging.
Our mentorship program connects youth and adults with inspiring role models and community leaders. Participants gain guidance, encouragement, and practical skills to support their personal, academic, and career growth.
CCACH is committed to helping young people reach their full potential. We share and promote a variety of youth-focused opportunities, including:
Scholarships and bursaries: Information and application support for local, provincial, and national awards for students of African and Caribbean heritage.
Workshops, internships, and conferences: Access to leadership development, career exploration, and community engagement activities.
Community events and volunteering: Opportunities to connect with peers, give back, and build lasting relationships.
