Making Responsive Teaching Practices More... Responsive.

Why is this Significant?

As educators, we have navigating through the toughest school year one could ever imagine. Teaching and learning during a global pandemic. Throughout this journey, I think most educators insist on their students' needing to feel a sense of belonging and community in the classroom, no matter the learning model being implemented. Responsive teaching practices are crucial when ensuring that all students feel safe and that they have a place in the classroom. I discovered that responsive teaching practices have been aimed mainly for in person learning. How is that useful when we are constantly shifting between virtual, hybrid and fully in person learning? I wanted to explore these practices across all learning models to ensure student success. Whether we are teaching in a classroom or on a computer screen, ensuring that expectations are clear, providing a positive community, using effective communication, providing all students with equal access to materials and lessons, and that as an educator you are only facilitator in students' learning, you can rest assured that you are doing all that you can for your students.
