Here are some study tips from Mrs. Touponce:
In Class:
1. Pay attention! It might seem obvious, but listening in class is the first step to begin learning.
2. Ask questions if you don't understand something. Chances are, someone else wants to ask the same thing...
3. Participate! Raise your hand and contribute to class. When you are engaged, you are learning.
For homework:
1. Make sure you have a quiet place to do your homework. Stay away from distractions like TV, music, noise, and games.
2. Don't rush! Take your time and show what you can do.
3. Stay organized. Use your planner and folder to help you remember homework and responsibilities.
For studying:
1. Don't wait until the last minute to study! Use a little time each night to review information from class.
2. Try rewriting your notes or typing them on the computer.
3. Draw meaningful pictures next to your notes to help you remember them.
4. Try singing the information to yourself or connecting information with body movements. The more of your 5 senses you use, the better you'll remember the information.
5. Make flashcards of vocabulary words and important information.
6. Ask someone to help you study your new flashcards and notes.
7. Find the strategies that work best for you! Everyone studies differently.
For testing:
1. Read all directions carefully.
2. Reread something if you don't understand it.
3. Take your time. If you rush, you might make careless mistakes.
4. Make sure you answer all parts of questions.
5. DO YOUR BEST!!!
