Descriptions:
Building Representative: At least one per building; can have additional if over 20 members in building. Helps communicate to members and to assist members with issues. Elected as a two-year position
Professional Development Committee: supposed to meet with Chad twice per year (Fall/Spring) and include up to 7 members, as well as two admin and one board member
Evaluation Committee: team should consist of eight licensed members, four administrators, and two board members
Calendar Committee: Generally starts meeting in February but we've asked to start earlier in the future; one member from each building and President or designee
College Enrichment Committee: made up of High School staff to evaluate which SWOCC courses to be taught at high school
Joint Professional Growth Committee: manages the teacher’s instructional improvement fund contract states parties will convene twice each year to assess the effectiveness of the program; three members appointed by the association and one non-voting district representative
Mentoring: joint responsibility with the district to maintain an effective mentoring program for our newest members
PAC (Political Action Committee): works with local organizations during school board elections and other local political races that effect CBEA; attends OEA-PAC conference (held bi-annually)
Contract Bargaining team: team chosen from larger Negotiations Committee to be at the table during bargaining sessions with the district
Negotiations Committee: bring reports, questions and suggestions from those they represent to the committee meetings. The Negotiation Committee will not go to the table during bargaining but will share information from their grade level band or speciality to the Bargaining Team.
Organizing team to support bargaining team: Organizes and provides meals for Negotiations committee during bargaining sessions, and helps to get members to attend those sessions
Membership Chair: Helps with New Hire orientation in August and works to make sure all new hires are welcomed and given a membership opportunity
Social committee: plans our annual Education Celebration during teacher appreciation week in May, plan Mix & Mingle events, etc.
Hospitality: sends flowers and cards to members when we are made aware of hospitalizations, births/adoptions, illness, or bereavement

This committee helps with planning mix & mingle events, get-togethers, and more! A fun committee to help build comaraderie and synergy with our members!
Sending Flowers and cards to those who are either having great successes, or struggles. A great way for us to show our appreciation and thoughtfulness to our educators.
