Basic Information

Pros:

• Students and teachers collaboratively edit docs and sync files across devices or online.
• Safe file storage for all google and microsoft products.
• Syncs with G Suite products and all mobile devices.
• Works with google classroom to allow teachers to share assignments with students automatically creating a folder and individual copies of the document for each student.
• Allows you to create new G Suite documents right in drive from any folder at any time
• You get much of the functionality of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and it seamlessly keeps files in multiple locations.

Cons:

• Works best with Google Chrome and Android products
• Uploading a document from a microsoft office product does not automatically convert it to a Google product (slides, docs, sheets)
• Saving a new document to a specific folder is a long process that is not like normal user interfaces that most are used to.
• Best used with middle school and high school students.
• Have to buy more storage space if you are not part of a school or organization.
• Privacy problems for one device being used by more than one student.
• Each student needs their own Google account to use Drive, which requires an email address.
