Just wanted to let you know of a potential scholarship opportunity for your students. It's the Miller Elementary Education Scholarship and it will begin in the 2026-2027 academic year. We have funds for up to nine students. Each scholarship is $4,000/student ($2,000/semester) who meet this criteria:
Apply to Pittsburg State University and complete the general scholarship application or be a current student
Maintain full-time enrollment
Be a registered member with any Native American Tribe
Declare a major in Education with the intent to teach Elementary Education
Maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA

Must include an official transcript or an authorized letter from the school
Must be pursuing a healthcare career (Examples include dentistry, hygiene, nursing, medicine, radiology, therapy, etc.)
500 word essay
Prompt: Why do you have a desire to serve in the healthcare field, and how do you hope to make a difference in your community?
Proof of acceptance to a university, college, or accredited program
Deadline: May 1, 2026

There's still time to encourage your outstanding student leaders to apply for President's Leadership Council at Oklahoma State University. Students should submit their application and essay response by the Nov. 1 Early Opportunity Scholarship Deadline.
PLC is a competitive scholarship program that awards 125 incoming freshmen with a $1,500 scholarship and connects them with the best leaders on campus through a dynamic leadership development program.
Those selected will participate in a summer retreat, enroll in two classes their freshman year and have the opportunity to attend a study abroad trip the following summer.
To apply, students must complete the leadership section of their OSU application and submit a response to the following question on their status portal: Tell us about a time you positively influenced others and what the outcome was.
