In this lesson students will be asked to research the origins of their clothing and will be introduced to the social justice issue of textile waste and fast fashion.
In this lesson students will be introduced to the scientific definitions of ecosystems and the environment. They will learn how humans have impacted both ecosystems and the environment, namely the fast fashion industry.
In this lesson students will be introduced to the largest impacts felt by the fast fashion industry. We will look at the aspects of fast fashion that pose the largest threat to the Earth.
In this lesson students will look at the connections between science, ecosystems and the environment. Through scripture and social justice teachings, they will become more familiar with their role to protect the Earth.
This culminating task will require students to act based on what they have learned about textile waste, fast fashion industry and its effects on ecosystems and the environment. Using scientific facts and our call as Catholics, students will carry out an action plan to help solve the problem of textile waste caused by the fast fashion industry.
