OPENING HYMN 🎼
Longing for light, we wait in darkness
Longing for truth, we turn to you.
Make us your own, your holy people,
Light for the world to see.
Christ, be our light! Shine in our hearts.
Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light!
Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has power to save us.
Make us your living voice.
Priest: The grace and peace of God our Father, who raised Jesus from the dead, be with you.
All: And with your spirit.
Priest: Our brother/sister has gone to his/her rest in the peace of Christ. May the Lord now welcome him/her to the table of God’s children in heaven. Let us pray also for ourselves. May we who mourn be united one day with our brother/sister. Together may we meet Christ Jesus when he who is our life appears in glory.
COMMITTAL
Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, by your own three days in the tomb, you hallowed the place of rest of all who believe in you, and so made the cremation a sign of hope that promises resurrection even as it claims our mortal bodies. Grant that our brother/sister may sleep in peace until you awaken him/her to glory, for you are the resurrection and the life. Then he/she will see you face to face and in your light will see light and know the splendour of God, for you live and reign forever and ever.
All: Amen

THE LORD’S PRAYER
Minister sprinkles the coffin with Holy Water.
All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Â
Give us this day our daily bread; forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; do not bring us to temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.
All: Hail Mary Full of Grace, The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.Â
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.
All: Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.Â
CONCLUDING PRAYER
Priest: God of holiness and power, accept our prayers on behalf of your servant. Do not count his/her deeds against him/her for in his/her heart he/she desired to do your will. As his/her faith united him/her to your people on earth, so may your mercy join him/her to the angels in heaven. We ask this through Christ our Lord.
All: Amen
                                                                                             Â

RECESSIONAL HYMN 🎼
1. Softly and tenderly Jesus is calling,
Calling for you and for me.
See, on the portals he’s waiting and watching
Watching for you and for me.
Come home, Come home,
You who are weary Come home;
Earnestly, tenderly, Jesus is calling
Calling for sinners Come home!
2. Why should we linger when Jesus is pleading,
Pleading for you and for me?
Why should be waiting and heed not his mercies,
Mercies for you and for me?
3. O for the wonderful love he has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
Longing for light, we wait in darkness.
Longing for truth, we turn to you.
Make us your own, your holy people,
light for the world to see.
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for peace, our world is troubled.
Longing for hope, many despair.
Your word alone has power to save us.
Make us your living voice.
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for food, many are hungry.
Longing for water, many still thirst.
Make us your bread, broken for others,
shared until all are fed.
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.
Longing for shelter, many are homeless.
Longing for warmth, many are cold.
Make us your building, sheltering others,
walls made of living stone.
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.
Many the gifts, many the people,
many the hearts that yearn to belong.
Let us be servants to one another,
making your kingdom come.
Christ be our light! Shine in our hearts. Shine through the darkness.
Christ, be our light! Shine in your church gathered today.

3. O for the wonderful love he has promised,
Promised for you and for me!
Though we have sinned, he has mercy and pardon,
Pardon for you and for me.
May the choir of angels,
Come to greet you.
May they speed you to paradise.
May the Lord enfold you
In His mercy.
May you find eternal life
There is one the I ask of the Lord;
That He grant me my heartfelt desire.
To dwell in the courts of our God
Everyday of my life in His presence
I am sure I shall see the Lord's goodness
I shall dwell in the land of the living
Hope in God, stand firm and take heart
Place all your trust in the Lord
The Lord is my light and my help;
It is He who protects me from harm
The Lord is the strength of my days;
Before whom should I tremble with fear?
O Lord, hear my voice when I cry;
Have mercy on me and give answer.
Do not cast me away in Your anger;
For You are the God of my help
On a hill far away stood an old rugged cross,
The emblem of suff’ring and shame,
And I love that old cross where the Dearest and Best
For a world of lost sinners was slain.
Â
So I’ll cherish the old rugged cross,
Till my trophies at last I lay down;
I will cling to the old rugged cross,
And exchange it some day for a crown.
To that old rugged cross I will ever be true,
Its shame and reproach gladly bear;
Then he'll call me some day to my home far away,
Where his glory forever I'll share.
Oh, that old rugged cross, so despised by the world,
Has a wondrous attraction for me;
For the dear Lamb of God left His glory above,
To bear it to dark Calvary.
In the old rugged cross, stained with blood so divine,
A wondrous beauty I see;
For ’twas on that old cross Jesus suffered and died,
To pardon and sanctify me.
Come back to me with all your heart.
Don't let fear keep us apart.
Trees do bend, 'though straight and tall;
So must we to others' call.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me
And living deeply our new life.
The wilderness will lead you
To your heart where I will speak.
Integrity and justice,
With tenderness, you shall know.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me
And living deeply our new life.
Come back to me with all your heart.
Don't let fear keep us apart.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me
And living deeply our new life. //
Come back to me with all your heart.
Don't let fear keep us apart.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me
And living deeply our new life. //
You shall cross the barrenn desert
But you shall not die of thirst
You shall wander far in safety
Though you do not know the way
You shall speak your words to foreign lands
And they will understand
You shall see the face of God and live
Be not afraid
I go before you always
Come, follow me and I will give you rest.
Blessed are your poor
For the kingdom shall be theirs
Blessed are you that weep and mourn
For one day you shall laugh
And if wicked tongues insult and hate you
All because of me
Blessed, blessed are you
Be not afraid
I go before you always
Come, follow me and I will give you rest.
Be not afraid
I go before you always
Come, follow me and I will give you rest.
You who dwell in the shelter of the Lord,
who abide in his shadow for life,
say to the Lord: "My refuge,
My rock in whom I trust!"
And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
The snare of the fowler will never capture you,
and famine will bring you no fear:
under his wings your refuge,
his faithfulness your shield.
You need not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day;
though thousands fall about you,
near you it shall not come.
And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of His hand.
For to his angels he's given a command
to guard you in all of your ways;
upon their hands they will bear you up,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.
And he will raise you up on eagle's wings,
bear you on the breath of dawn,
make you to shine like the sun,
and hold you in the palm of his hand.
Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
2
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.
3
The Lord hath promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.
On this day, O beautiful Mother,
On this day we give thee our love.
Near the, Madonna, fondly we hover,
Trusting thy gentle care to prove.
On this day we ask to share,
Dearest Mother, thy sweet care;
Aid us ere our feet astray
Waner from thy guiding way.
Queen of angels, deign to hear
Lisping children's humble prayer;
Young hearts gain, O virgin pure,
Sweetly to thyself allure.
