Personalized Accelerated Reader (P)AR

• The STAR test will be administered once per quarter to help determine your individual reading ranges and abilities.

*PAR Students: (G.E. = 8.0 or higher) *AR Students: (G.E. = lower than 8.0)         *each Q, G.E. goals will increase by .3

• PAR students are required to read and test on at least one (1) fiction and one (1) non-fiction book every nine weeks, totaling a minimum of eight (8) AR points.

*To qualify for Double Dipper, PAR students must read at least two (2) fiction and two (2) non-fiction books, totaling a minimum of sixteen (16) AR points.

• AR students are required to read and test on at least two (2) fiction books and one (1) non-fiction book every nine weeks, totaling a minimum of eight (8) AR points.

*To qualify for Double Dipper, AR students must read at least two (4) fiction and two (2) non-fiction books, totaling a minimum of sixteen (16) AR points.

• Status of the Class will occur on a weekly basis.

• AR is worth 10% of your quarterly grade.

• Required class novels do NOT count for P(AR) or Double Dipper.
