Can I only order from more than 1 merchant?
Yes. Simply add the desired dishes from the 1st merchant to your order and click on 'add to cart'. Next, add dishes from your 2nd merchant and click on 'add to cart'. Please ensure that the same date, time and venue are selected for both merchants. Finally, go to your cart. You should see that the dishes from both merchants have been automatically consolidated under the same date and time and is ready for you to checkout just once.
I have someone with a special diet (e.g Vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free). Do you have options?
Yes, you may use the vegan and gluten-free filters at our search food page to find these options. If you need to customise a dish to suit the dietary requirement, please email us at support@catersmith.com.sg.
How soon do I need to place my order?
Each merchant has a different order lead time. You can find the lead time on each merchant's profile.
Is there a minimum order?
Each merchant has a different minimum order. You can find the minimum order on each merchant's profile.
What is the status of my order?
Please login at www.catersmith.com.sg > my account > profile > order history > order number to view the status of your order.
Can I increase or reduce my order?
Yes, you can. Please contact us at least 3 days before your event to request an increase or reduction. Additional fees may apply if the change is requested less than 3 days in advance.
Can I change my order after checking out?
Yes, you can. Please contact us at least 3 days before your event to request a change. Additional fees may apply if the change is requested less than 3 days in advance.
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, you can. Please write in to us at least 5 working days in advance. There will be no cancellation charges if your written cancellation request is acknowledged within the grace period.
What is included in a full setup buffet?
The buffet order will include tables with skirting, food served in food warmers, simple floral decorations, disposable cutlery and dining ware and a bin.
Can I rent additional tables and chairs?
Yes, most of our caterers are able to provide rental of dining tables, banquet chairs, cocktail tables and stools at an additional rental fee. If you are checking out online, please leave us an order note so that we can arrange for the rental. Alternatively, please contact us at support@catersmith.com.sg to make the arrangements.
Will disposable plates, cutleries and napkins be provided?
Cutleries will be provided by most caterers unless otherwise stated.
When will the caterer come back to collect the equipment?
The caterer usually returns to your venue for equipment collection 3 hours after the setup is completed. If you need to change the default collection time, please leave an order note when you checkout.
Will takeaway boxes be provided for me to pack leftover food?
No, takeaway boxes will not be provided. The Singapore Food Agency encourages that all food from the buffet line be consumed within 3 hours of setup. Any leftover food should be disposed of to prevent food contamination.
What is included in a mini buffet?
The mini buffet order will include food served in disposable plastic or aluminium trays, disposable cutlery and dining ware and tongs or serving spoons which you can keep.
Can I rent additional tables and chairs?
No, table and chair rental is not available for mini buffet orders
Will tables and food warmers be provided?
No, there is no table setup for mini buffet orders. If you would like tables with skirting and food to be served in warmers, please order a full setup buffet. Do note that full setup buffets usually require a minimum order of 30 pax.
Are drinks provided with mini buffet orders?
Cold drinks are usually not provided with mini buffet orders due to the logistical difficulty of transporting it.
What is included in a bento / lunch box order?
You will receive food that has been packed in single-serve portions. This may take the form of a bowl / box or a bento box with compartments
Are the disposable containers biodegradable or compostable?
Each merchant serves their bento and lunch boxes in a different packaging material. You can use the eco-friendly packaging filter to find merchants with compostable or biodegradable packaging. If you are not sure, please check with our team at support@catersmith.com.sg.
Will cutlery and napkins be provided?
Yes, most of our merchants provide disposable cutlery and napkins with each bento or lunch box order unless otherwise stated.
How long can I keep a lunch box or bento for?
The Singapore Food Agency encourages lunch box and bento boxes to be consumed within 1 hour of the delivery arrival.
Are the lunch boxes and bento boxes halal certified?
Some of our halal-certified merchants serve food in lunch box format. To find the options, please use the Menu Type > Lunch Box and Dietary > Halal filters on the search food page.
What are team meals?
Team meals are recurring lunches or dinners for staff. These meals occur on a fixed schedule, eg. daily meals, weekly meals, monthly meals etc.
What is included in this service?
Catersmith provides you with a dedicated meal planner who will draft out your staff meals for your approval. This service is complimentary, as long as you meet the minimum order.
Why should I use this service?
Meal planning on your own can be very tedious and time consuming. You will need to coordinate with a large number of different merchants in order to get enough variety of food for your team. You will also need to manage payments across multiple merchants. Most of our customers also report running out of food ideas or struggling to please colleagues with different cuisine preferences and dietary restrictions.
Our meal planner can help to take on all of the heavy lifting when it comes to meal planning. This will free you up for your other important tasks at work. Our meal planners will send you options from over 150 of Singapore's top restaurants and caterers so that you never get bored of the food.
Can I choose which cuisines or merchants I want to have?
Yes, you have full control over what your team eats. Just let us know your preferences and our meal planners will work on it accordingly.
