How do I Know What Instrument I will be Playing?

Rising 7th Graders: During the open house on March 26, 2024  from 6:00-8:00 PM students will get to try out the instruments on which they can start (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, and percussion ). Once the students have tried the instruments and selected their first three choices instruments of they will be told what instrument they are playing that night.  With that meeting, parents will have plenty of time to make arrangements to get/rent an instrument. The information for that can also be found below. You may notice there are a few instruments that are not on this list (i.e. French Horn, Tuba, Bass Clarinet, Tenor Sax, and Bari Sax) . During the second semester if a student is interested in playing one of those instruments they will have the option of switching with Mr. Long's approval.

Rising 8th Graders: By this time you should know what instrument you are playing. If a student is interested in playing another instrument they must contact Mr. Long after the beginning of school. 

Used Instruments can be Found Online 

Check on Facebook marketplace, eBay, craigslist, amazon for QUALITY brands. Please look over the supply list for recommended brands. A brand not on the supply list might be cheaper at first, but off brand instruments easily and quickly break and CANNOT be repaired. Think of it like buying a car if you saw an off brand car for $150 dollars you would probably ask questions. Please, Please, PLEASE stick to the recommended brands on the supply list!
