Jacobs Fork Wrestling?
Jacobs Fork Wrestling?
Jacobs Fork Wrestling is a valuable program that can enhance a student’s time at JFMS. This is not MMA, the WWE, or a bunch of brutes beating up on each other. The Jacobs Fork Wrestling team is a place for students who want to add another challenge to their lives. We stress academics and character and teach perseverance through adversity. We want to build champions on and off the mat.
The JF Wrestling team works closely with the Foard Wrestling team. Coaches from both schools work with and get to know the students participating in the program. We strive to develop a team atmosphere from our youth wrestling program all the way to our seniors.

Wrestling helps to develop character.
Practice:
Practices will begin after fall sports have completed their season at the end of October. We practice everyday after school from 2:45-5:00. Get changed and ready for practice quickly. Time wasted in the halls and locker room means practice time wasted. Parents can pick up wrestlers behind the gymnasium.
What to bring to wrestling:
Physical, proof of insurance, and new concussion forms – The forms are required before you can even step on the mat. If you tried out for another sport this year, they will be on file in the school office.
Mask - We are required to wear them any time we are not actively drilling or wrestling.
T-shirt and shorts/sweatpants – They should be different from your school clothes. You will have time to change in the locker room before practice starts.
Wrestling shoes – If you don’t have them the first couple of days, that’s alright. You must have them before you can wrestle in a match. We don’t wear street shoes on the mat.
Headgear – optional – You may use your own, but we will provide them.
Water bottle - No sharing!
Mouthpiece – They are required if you have braces, but are recommended for everyone.
Personal hand sanitizer or clean wipes – These items are also optional, but will help prevent skin breakouts.
Tennis shoes – We may be working out during the week and you need to have proper shoes.
A good attitude – We’re here to work. We’re here to make each other better. We’re here to build a successful young men, team, and program.
